The Titanic sank before WWI even started, let alone WWII, and the sinking had nothing to with either. Also, the Titanic was built in Belfast by the irish.
It's possible the said offender of historical accuracy is confusing the Titanic with the Lusitania - a cruise liner sunk by a Germans U-boat in 1915 with 128 Americans on, supposedly influencing USA's decision to join the war
